World Civilization ROL
During the class of World Civilization, the learning objectives are to understand how the world became what it is now throughout the years. This is valuable to my future because I feel like we should know how the world became how it is now. The project that I am submitting as an artifact for World Civilization had the following learning objectives: taking good notes and understanding why WWI started. These links back to the course learning objectives by understanding why WWI was important and taking nos will help me understand and remember the concept more.
The assignment or project was about why they used propaganda during WWI and why was it important. It required me to create my own propaganda poster. The Process I went through to do this project and meet the learning objectives first started with learning about WWI and how they used propaganda to encourage people to support the Allied forces of the war. Then I learned about different types of propaganda and how each propaganda had a different meaning. After gaining all this new knowledge I started on my rough draft and then I did my final version. The meaning behind my propaganda poster is how the Allied (France, Great Britain, and Russia) forces were there for Serbia after being attacked. Throughout this process listed above I have realized I have learned or grown in the following ways: growing artistically, creatively, and have grown in knowledge about WWI. These link back to the course goals and project goals with the following evidence of understanding why this war was important and understanding an event that led to what the world is today. This tells me the following about myself and that I learn in very different ways as in making art to taking notes about the subject.
The Two School Wide Learning Outcomes I demonstrated with this Artifact are representing self, school and community through personal responsibility and global citizenship and mastering skills needed in career and college. I have demonstrated Representing self, school and community through personal responsibility and global citizenship in the artifact by keeping up with my Edgenuity lessons. This is important because you can't fall behind in Edgenuity because their lessons aren’t hard but some of them can be long and you also have to take notes and it can be stressful sometimes but all you need to do is stay organized and you’ll be fine. The Second SLO I demonstrated was Thinking critically and creatively because when I had to create the propaganda poster I had to get creative and I had to do a lot of thinking on how I could get encouraged “the people” to support the Allies. I could have improved Mastering skills needed in career and college better by focusing a little more on the lesson videos. Sometimes I would space out during the lesson videos or sometimes I wouldn’t try my best in the problems they would give me. Also I don’t think that is going to be good when I’m in college
Overall the most important things I have learned in this class this year are to take very detailed notes and I learned how the world has civilized until now. These skills I have learned in this class will help me in the future because when I go to college I’m pretty sure I’m going to have to take lots of notes in my classes and in this class you have to write very detailed notes on the videos so you can understand the concept more.
